Rumor has it that Spring is coming! It is neither evident from our morning and evening temperatures in Alabama nor where I’m visiting in Tennessee this week. Here are 5 simple ways to ease Spring in your home decor.
If you are joining me from Sweet Valley Acres, a great big Blu welcome! And after you see all of these great ideas, be sure to hop over to Gathered in the Kitchen for more spring inspiration!
1-Live Plants
Potted plants or fresh flowers make a statement anywhere in your home. Just look at the colors in this bouquet…
My youngest daughter, #4, sent these beauties to my oldest daughter, #2, to celebrate her new home. The vibrant colors instantly brought a welcome touch of Spring and happiness to the new home while we were painting in the days before any furniture arrived. It made my heart so happy every time I walked into the room and saw this glorious bouquet.
My local Adi had these beautiful orchids today for $11.99. Wouldn’t this be lovely on a side table in any room?
Aldi also had these gorgeous Hyacinths for $3.99! Can you even imagine the fragrance in a small guest bathroom? Heavenly!
Who can resist lovely pansies sporting vibrant purples? Home Depot has a nice selection right now. Scatter them around the house. Just pop them into interesting vessels like I did with this antique Ironstone gravy boat.
I saw these exquisite Calla Lilies at Home Depot. You can easily sit these into a basket or crock.
2-Faux Florals
If you are not a fan of live plants, there are so many possibilities with artificial flowers. Like the obvious…in a vase.
Or a in basket…
This little country basket belonged to my MIL. Now it hangs in my home.
On a book…
Even the bathroom needs some spring fun. Decor can be very simple.
Scatter them just about anywhere!
3-Wreaths
Nothing says Spring like a beautiful wreath. Your wreaths can be very elaborate. Or a simple ring of grapevine from your garden with minimal flowers. This wreath literally took 15 minutes to make, including the time to harvest the grapevine and add forsythia.
Wreaths can be monochromatic , just one color…
Or multicolor like these I found on Amazon…
You can even layer wreaths like these I found at Joann Fabrics.
4–Random Pops of Color
Spring means fresh green or muted pinks and vibrant purple or gentle lavender. A splash of coral or subtle soothing pastels. Spring colors scattered strategically throughout your home help to ease your decor into Spring.
Maybe a bright candle on a side table or some flowers tucked beside some books.
If you are a neutral lover, how about a subtle spring door mat like this one from Joann Fabrics.
Nothing brightens up a room or completely changes the feel of a room faster than the addition of some gorgeous fresh pillows.
Super fast and super easy! Literally a toss and fluff!
5-Art Work
Switch out existing framed prints or artwork for those with spring subjects and colors.
So, if the lingering cold weather has you longing for spring, ease in gently with some of these small but effective additions. And remember, spring is slowly but surely coming our way.
